Dear Friends and Family,
Yes, it is that time of year again. I’m so happy to send you our annual holiday newsletter and tell you about all the great things our family has done the past twelve months!!
I’m sure your family has done great things, too, but since they are probably not as great as ours, feel free to just send us a regular holiday card with a photo of your kids! Of course, I’m sure your kids are not as good looking, smart, and talented as our kids, but we would love to get your photocard anyway so we can add it to the mantel with the hundreds of other cards we get each year that make us look extremely popular.
Speaking of kids, it’s hard to believe we have one teen in college now! Boy, time sure flies when your kids are doing amazing things!
So here is what our humble gang has been up to:
Last summer our son took up surfing and after a few weeks, he got good enough to tackle some big waves. He managed to catch an 85-foot swell in Portugal, but was disappointed because the world record is 90 feet. Still, he said it was a pretty gnarly ride and there was an added bonus when he wiped out and inadvertently discovered the lost city of Atlantis.
Our daughter is a little more restrained in her pursuits. After returning from camp, she completed an Ironman Triathalon before spending a few weeks volunteering to help build Orangutan dwellings in Borneo.
She loved the experience and hopes to return next year after she gets back from running with the bulls in Pamplona.
Meanwhile, back here at home, even my brilliant kids couldn’t stop us from losing power during the recent Nor’easter. Although my husband was forced to work by candlelight, he still managed to finish his tests on a vaccine that will cure feline baldness. Hopefully the lights will stay on when he goes to present his work at the World Cat Healthcare Conference this spring! LOL!!
As always, I was happy to stay here and man the homefront while everyone else was out saving the world! The good news is, without any distractions, I was able to finish creating the world’s first everlasting toilet paper roll. It’s a big hit at the White House so I’m sure you will love it, too!
Best wishes for a great 2014!
PS… Please help us congratulate our dog Monty who was chosen out of 17 million other dogs to advise scientists on a breakthrough new device that will enable us to translate dog barks. Here is Monty dressed for his first day or work!
