The dog is trying to eat the chinchilla.
No, that is not a euphemism for something. He really wants to chow down on chinchilla. The chinchilla actually predates the dog and had no problem with our previous pup who passed away last summer. But this new dog missed the memo and doesn’t understand that Henry, the chinchilla, is also a member of our family, not a potential snack.
Why do I mention this in the midst of my new book tour? Because while I’m busy trying to update you on all the cool new “Lost in Suburbia” happenings, I am having to constantly stop to go in the kitchen and pull the dog off the chinchilla cage. So if you catch any typos in this blog, it’s because I got distracted by a chinchilla intervention.
Meanwhile back at the book launch, I had my first book event at the Haworth Library in Haworth, New Jersey. We all had a good time and it was really cool to sign that first group of books! Thanks so much to the Haworth Library for hosting, and to Womrath’s Bookstore for providing the books!
If you missed this one, I will be down at BookTowne in Manasquan tonight (thursday, April 4) at 7pm to speak and sign some more books. Please come stop by if you are in the area. It’s located at 171 Main Street, Manasquan.
WHO’S BLOGGING ABOUT LOST IN SUBURBIA?
My good friend Anne Parris has a review of “Lost in Suburbia: A Momoir” over on her blog, Not a SuperMom. Anne writes: “I read Lost In Suburbia at night after my husband went to sleep, and almost woke him up several times with my chortling. There were also some snorts and a muffled guffaw.” I’ll take that as a rave!

Over on Good Girl Gone Redneck, the always awesome Andrea Bates is giving away a copy of my book. She writes: “Letting us come along on the ride with her, Tracy has allowed us to laugh, SO hard. Laugh at her. Laugh at ourselves. Just plain laugh.”

WHAT ELSE IS COMING UP?
I’m going to be a guest on “LIVE FROM THE COUCH” on WLNY TV 55 in New York this coming Friday at 7:30am. If you are up and not busy driving the kids to school or walking the dog or faking sleep so your husband will have to get up and walk the dog, please tune in!
Remember, “Lost in Suburbia: A Momoir. How I Got Pregnant, Lost Myself, and Got My Cool Back in the New Jersey Suburbs” is now available in print and for download on Kindle. You can go to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Books a Million, Indiebound, Powells, or your local bookstore to get your copy!!
